Tasting - Stella Mia Pink Moscato

Name: Stella Mia Pink Moscato
Variety: Moscato
Region: Unspecified
Country: Italy
Year: 2021
Price: $12

Winery Review: Pale silvery pink color. Aromas of citrus punch and green apple with a supple, crisp, spritzy, sweet light body and a polished, brisk watermelon-strawberry smoothie finish. A sweet and bubbly treat for anytime quaffing (https://www.tastings.com/Wine-Review/Stella-Mia-NV-Pink-Moscato-Italy-Italy-04-07-2021.aspx)

Wine Folly:
Pink Moscato is more of a marketing schtick than it is a classic Moscato wine style – even though it can be tasty! This wine is made with mostly Muscat grapes and usually dollup of Merlot to give it a ruby-pink color. Imagine the classic Moscato flavors with a touch of strawberry (https://winefolly.com/deep-dive/moscato-wine/).

My Review: This wine is really good! The smell strongly indicates red fruits, like strawberry, cranberry, and raspberry. I also smelled a lot of floral characteristics, and the alcohol smell is very light. The taste is pleasant, and it went down smoothly. It has a strong strawberry taste with a hint of cherry and is fairly sweet. The alcohol isn't detectable in the taste at all. Overall, a tasty wine and could go great with something spicy.

Tasting - The Collection Prosecco Rosé

Name: The Collection Prosecco Rosé
Variety: Prosecco
Region: Prosecco, Italy
Country: Italy
Year: 2021
Price: $5

Winery Review: Light pink coral color. Aromas and flavors of fresh strawberries, cherry blossom, elderflower blossom, mulberry, and cherry juice with a supple, lively, bubbly, dryish light-to-medium body and a silky, stimulating, buoyant finish that presents notes of lemon zest and hops with no oak flavor. A zesty and zippy Prosecco for weekend brunches with friends (https://www.tastings.com/Wine-Review/The-Collection-2019-Rose-Prosecco-Doc-Italy-06-04-2021.aspx).
Wine Folly: Most Prosecco wines are produced in a dry, brut style. However, due to the grapes’ fruity flavors of green apple, honeydew melon, pear, and honeysuckle, it usually seems sweeter than it is. Even though brut is the most popular sweetness level of Prosecco sold in the market today, you can find styles that are sweeter if you seek them out (https://winefolly.com/deep-dive/the-prosecco-wine-guide/).

My Review: This wine is a great little snack wine. The smell is great and is very flowery. The taste is almost as good as the smell, with no taste of alcohol and not tannic at all. It is very smooth and not too sweet. The main taste I get is pear. There are some drawbacks to this wine however, I do not feel any bubbles even though it is a sparkling wine and the aftertaste is a bit sour. Otherwise, this is a great wine to pop open for deserts or appetizers.
